5 Wolves named to the Brooklyn All-Star Team
D'von McGleese (QB), Jose Toro (TB), Chris McDonald (WR), Person Hinds (DE), and Carlos Alvarez (OL) will be representing the Wolves in the 2005 Exceptional Senior Brooklyn All-Star Game

D’von brought the Wolves to a new level. D’von’s ability to find open receivers and make big throws gave a new dimension to the Wolves offense, which in the past has been a predominately run offense. McGleese earned his spot on the All-Star team by throwing for 898 yard and 10 touchdowns. In addition, D’von rushed for 165 yards scoring 1 touchdown and 3 two-point conversions. D’von was also nominated to the Brooklyn 44 team and the New York City Coaches Association All Boro - Brooklyn Team.
Jose Toro rushed for an incredible 933 yards and 7 touchdowns behind a mostly inexperienced-sophomore offensive line. Toro’s threat as big time running back forced defensives to play the run hard allowing passing lanes to open up. Along the way, Toro compiled enough yards to surpass Grand Street legend, Javon Sistrunk in Career Rushing Yards of 1,752. Jose was also nominated to the Brooklyn 44 team and the New York City Coaches Association All Boro - Brooklyn Team.
Chris McDonald caught 12 balls for 187 yards and 2 touchdowns. One of Chris’s biggest receptions came against Boys High late in the game. McDonald’s 52 yard reception put the Wolves in position to beat the highly favored Kangaroos 20-16. Chris is also one of the Wolves best down field blockers giving running backs a chance to break for big time yardage.
Pearson Hinds is Grand Street Campus’ first and only 4 year varsity player. Pearson participated on two undefeated teams, 2002 and 2004. Hinds is a valuable utility player, he has played just about every position on the field including kicker. In his four years at Grand Street Hinds has accumulated 71 tackles and 3 sacks.
Carlos Alvarez is a walk on senior who made an immediate impact on the offensive line. His hard work and determination made him one of the best offensive linemen on the Wolves. Alvarez’s dependability to show up to work and do his job gave stability to a suffering offensive line allowing the Wolves to get better week by week.
