3 Wolves Named to The New York City Coaches Association All-Boro Team. QB,
D’von McGleese, TB, Jose Toro, and sophomore TE Kadeem Huggins.
D’von brought the Wolves
to a new level. D’von’s ability to find open receivers
and make big throws gave a new dimension to the Wolves offense,
which in the past has been a predominately run offense. McGleese
earned his spot on the All-Star team by throwing for 898 yard and
10 touchdowns. In addition, D’von rushed for 165 yards scoring
1 touchdown and 3 two-point conversions. D’von was also nominated
to the Brooklyn 44 team and the New York City Coaches Association
All Boro - Brooklyn Team.
Jose Toro rushed for an incredible 933 yards
and 7 touchdowns behind a mostly inexperienced-sophomore offensive
line. Toro’s threat as big time running back forced defensives
to play the run hard allowing passing lanes to open up. Along the
way, Toro compiled enough yards to surpass Grand Street legend,
Javon Sistrunk in Career Rushing Yards of 1,752. Jose was also
nominated to the Brooklyn 44 team and the New York City Coaches
Association All Boro - Brooklyn Team.
Kadeem Huggins earned his spot on the 2005 NYC Coaches Association
All-Boro Team by hauling in 25 receptions for 209 yards, including
1 TD and 8 2-point conversions. Only a sophomore, Huggins proved
to be a threat to opposing defenses by being able to make the big
grabs in tight situations. As a blocker, Huggins is a fierce as
they come. The Wolves made a living running be hind him allowing
Jose Toro to break the school’s rushing record. Kadeem is
the first sophomore in Grand Street Campus history to be selected
to the NYC Coaches Association All-Boro Team.
