Coach McKenna, a veteran coach who has been in High School football for more than 5 years, was named the Wolves offensive coordinator on Jan. 5, 2005

“Kyle has earned his stripes,” said head coach Ed Gazzillo. “He has an old-fashioned work ethic. He goes to work and does his job. He is not a hype guy. He is meticulous and detailed. Kyle is prepared to accept this responsibility. He is an outstanding leader, and he will be very good on game day.”

McKenna spent the 2004 season as wide receiver coach for The Wolves. In 2003 and 2002 McKenna directed the offensive line. In 2002, the offensive line allowed runningback Javon Sistrunk rush for over 1,500 yards.

Coach McKenna started his coaching career at his alma mater Baldwin High School. He played football there from 1988-92 and was recently added to the Baldwin Football Hall of Fame. Coach McKenna finished is playing career at Boston University where he was on the Undefeated Yankee Conference Championship Team in 1993.

Kyle also took over as the strength and conditioning coach for The Wolves in 2005.

McKenna’s goal in the weightroom is to help each player increase in size, strength and speed, which ultimately produces a more powerful athlete. “Coach Gazzillo wants our team to play physical on the field,” McKenna said. “Our job is to make our players more physical and more powerful, so that their play will be physical in competition.”

In addition, Coach McKenna also works for the Joe Namath Football Camp during the summers.

Coach McKenna resides in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
