Coach Lightfoot was named defensive coordinator on Jan. 5, 2005. Lightfoot will be challenged to continue The Wolves tradition as a dominant defensive force in the PSAL.

Lightfoot’s experience brings a fundamentally sound and hard-hitting style of defense to The Wolves

“Mike Lightfoot is a very impressive young coordinator and play-caller,” Gazzillo said. “He had great success over the last few years. His style will establish toughness and an aggressive style of play.”

Lightfoot spent the 2004 season as co-offensive line coach and outside linebacker coach for The Wolves.

Lightfoot, spent the previous five seasons as the freshman coach at his alma mater, Avon Lake High School in Ohio. Avon Lake, Winner OHSAA State Football Division II Finals in 2003, OHSAA State Football Division II finalist in 2004, and winner of the Southwestern Conference All-Sports Trophy 1996-1997, 1997-1998, 1999-2000, 2000-2001, 2001-2002, 2002-2003, and 2003-2004.

Lightfoot took over the position as The Wolves Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach in 2005. Mike is experienced in the weight room. He coaches athletes from various sports, helping to develop position-specific speed and multi-directional acceleration programs, as well as power and strength protocols.

Coach Lightfoot resides in Williamsburg, Brooklyn
